I believe that we are all born with the ability to live a happy and fulfilling life.  Unfortunately, as we move through life, we can pick up negative messages and value statements from others that can mask our own needs and wants. We learn to listen to, and often please, the others around us rather than listening to our own core needs.

Very often it is only when we experience a challenging set of circumstances or a sudden and unexpected life change, that it triggers us to take a step back and think, “That's enough!  I need help.".

You may have been experiencing low self-esteem, anxiety or low mood for quite some time and just thought, "Oh well, that's just life!".  Then your life gets turned upside down with a sudden change such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown, a job loss.  Your life may have changed due to circumstances such as the menopause, an empty nest or retirement.  The dream you had of having a partner or children hasn't happened and now you are struggling to make sense of life.

You start to feel lost and alone.  It feels like nobody truly understands what you are going through, and you wonder how you are ever going to get over it.

It is normal to struggle with life from time to time, especially when we have had a sudden change or one challenge too many, and sometimes we need a little help to get us back on track, back into a life that feels good for you.

I am a trained Grief and Loss Counsellor and I will work with you to discover what you need to make sense of your Loss and to find your inner ability to live a happy and fulfilling life.

How Can Counselling Help

Each of us experience life in our own unique way, which, at times, can be difficult to make sense of.   Talking these difficulties through with a trained counsellor can:

  • Bring greater understanding to your life.

  • Bring deeper insight into your thoughts and emotions.

  • Increase your self-awareness.

  • Identify what you need and how to get those needs met.

  • Discover and maintain your boundaries.

  • Decrease anxiety and panic attacks.

  • Improve low mood.

  • Increase self-confidence.

  • Build and sustain better relationships.

  • Build a life that feels right for you.

The benefits of counselling can last a lifetime.
